Behavior Problems

A little girl lays in her bed one night,
listening to her parents in the next room fight.
From her eyes tears on the pillow splash.
Then suddenly she jumps as she hears the crash.
Everything grows quiet and still.
In her heart fear begins to fill.
Making her way to the bedroom door,
she fights the fear inside her once more.
Looking into the next room,
sensing the impending doom,
an innocent child stares at the sight
barely able to contain her fright.
The sirens and lights get loud and bright
on this the most Holy night.
In her mind there are games and fun.
She is free to jump and run.
Hiding away what she cannot face
until grown, her innocence is erased.
Her tears flow freely now.
She survived it all somehow.
Christmas again is a time of joy,
while she watches at play, her little boy.

Honorees encompass contemporary scientific and social issues, theoretical advances,  the dissemination of professional and public  information, and relevant personal experiences.

Our Talking Hands honorees may be found either by searching by the year the honor was earned or by the teaching and learning element in which they excell.

All applicants who follow our submission policy will be given specific reasons for failure to obtain a minimum score of twenty-three (23) upon written request.  However, upon correction and submission to our judges, this act will not constitute approval. All of our judges must be in agreement for the award to be presented and their decision is final and not subject to disclosure. Privacy notification is apart of application forms.
